I’m digging the Amazon Cloud Player, awesome with my new Droid X. I can stream my entire collection (well, that I’ve uploaded so far) from my phone at work, or even from my phone hooked up to my Ford Edge’s SYNC system through Bluetooth. I will say that the streaming isn’t so hot in the car, but you can download the tracks from your cloud drive to your phone very easily from the Amazon MP3 app and then you don’t have any problems. I’m very careful to only put direct rips of CDs I own on my cloud drive though (or things bought through AmazonMP3).

Good point on the carefulness of only uploading media that you have physical backups of. But, the truth of the matter is, there’s probably little to no way for them to tell weather you acquired the music legally or illegally. Definitely something to think about though.

Lala, which was acquired by Apple, pretty much had this same functionality (limited to music though). This will probably put pressure on Apple to go ahead and release their much awaited streaming service.

Oh, well, I’m trying to get away from any music I don’t own (borrowed from a friend or got otherwise) anyway, I’m keeping tabs on Amazon MP3 sales. With this Cloud Player (in combination with my new phone), this finally set Amazon MP3 as my digital distribution service of choice for mp3s.
