Holiday Game Shopping On The Cheap

Well here we are just a few weeks from “BLACK FRIDAY” and everyone is trying to figure out what to get their friends, family, or themselves for Christmas. Now while many of the titles that were supposed to come out this holiday season have been pushed back till early next year, there are still a lot of titles coming out. COD:MW2 this past Tuesday. Assassin’s Creed 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles in the next few weeks just to name a few.  Many of you might be trying to figure out what to get on a limited budget due to the economy.

Well I have got  a solution for you. BUY USED!!!!!!!!!!!!! That’s right check out the used game sections of your gaming stores. While many of you may have had your systems for years there are still some AAA titles you have probably missed. If you just got your system in the past year, or looking for someone in this situation that could use some great games this is the way to go.

Many of us pass by the used games during the holiday season due to the stigma of “It’s gotta be new!”. Well we all must remember that it is the thought that counts. And quality over price. For each home system there are treasure troves of GREAT AAA titles to choose from. With quite a few under $20. Just remember you can always take the used stickers off  just like any other gift.

Here are a few titles for the systems that you might have missed that are on the cheap.

Multi System: Bioshock, Grand Theft Auto 4, Rock Band (Game only, instruments will be separate, but look around. You can find them on the cheap as well.), Battlefield: Bad Company, Assassin’s Creed, Devil May Cry4, Ninja Gaiden, Burnout Paradise, Dead Space, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Lost Planet.

PS3: Heavenly Sword, Metal Gear Solid 4,  Lair, Mirror’s Edge, Gran Turismo 5.

360: HALO 3, Gears of  War 1 & 2, DOA 4, Ace Combat 6,

Wii: Metroid Prime 3, Legend of Zelda; Twilight Princess, Mario Galaxies, Smash Bros Brawl.

These titles I’ve named are only a tip of the iceberg of what is available. Great games at great prices. Also if your shopping for a PS2 owner your in luck. There is almost 10 years worth of games on the cheap for this system. Some as low as $5 that will still give you a great experience. Also For Wii owners don’t for get about it’s ability to play Gamecube games. These might be harder to find but they are out there. And it does have a great library to chose from.

So as we go into this season please remember good people. If your the giver or the receiver don’t knock the used game sections. In these tough economic times they are our best friends. With plenty of quality cheer that won’t kill your credit down the line.  And if your buying for yourself be sure to take a moment and think about what you haven’t played yet that you wanted to. What did you have to pass up when it first came out that you can easily grab now.
