Zombie Arms
Combat Arms is stepping into the Zombie Shooter World, but thanks to Nexon it will be free. After playing about an hour of Combat Arms: Quarantine Zone, I must say I am really enjoying this new mode. If you are like Clarence and feel Combat Arms’ precise aiming mechanics will make for a good zombie game then read on to hear the play mechanics of this new scenario. Continue Reading…
Lips Get New Hits

Lips, the motion sensitive wireless microphone karaoke game for XBOX 360, has just announced its second title, which includes a slew of popular artists. Lips: The Number One Hits, is slated for release in October and includes many top hits from around the music world. This latest iteration looks to extend it’s library by offering tracks from Kanye West, Mariah Carey, and even 2Pac. Developed by iNiS and published by Microsoft Game Studios, Lips does what I so desperately would like Rock Band or Guitar Hero to do with its music library… provide music that I actually give a crap about. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some rock tracks, but the whole notion of having ‘Popular’ music is a huge void that is waiting to be filled. If the Lips franchise ever manages to add instruments, I feel that it will quickly take a stake in the market. In any case, here is the full track list. Continue Reading…

2K sports has announced a preview of sorts for the best NBA Basketball game around.
Dead Space Review
Dead Space, a third person Shooter in the vein of shooters like Gears of War, and RE4 is at the center of what I find to be the EA renaissance. With an unprecedented number of new and/or interesting IPs being published through their in house studios and their partners program, EA is starting to become more than the evil empire they once were. So, what makes Dead Space more interesting than the crap that is shoveled out of studios like 2K and Activision?
It takes lots of risks without actually being risky and further blurs the line between character action games and survival horror. Much of what you see in Dead Space is ripped directly out of other titles. Continue Reading…

Halo + Ecko = ????
I’m trying to figure out what the hell Mark Ecko and Bungie were thinking when they decided to make Halo themed Ecko t-shirts.
So, typically I find most of the clothes Ecko creates, to be a bit tacky, but admittedly I am not the target audience…usually. However, when Ecko steps into the gaming world I become the target audience. These shirts DON’T appeal to gamers, at least you typical gamers. Yes, I feel comfortable speaking on behalf of all typical gamers.

Halo Anime To Be Announced At Comic Con

Although you won’t be able to see a Halo movie in the foreseeable future, soon you’ll be able to get the next best thing. Halo Legends, a collection of Halo short films from leading anime studios, will officially be announced later today at Comic Con. Some of the studios Microsoft will be working with are Bones, Casio Entertainment, Production I.G., Studio4°C, and Toei Animation. This announcement certainly comes as a surprise to me, but it will be great to see how these guys expand the Halo universe even further. A snippet of the official press release is below.
LONDON — July 23, 2009 — A renowned set of storytellers from some of the world’s leading anime studios in Japan are about to take one of the most iconic franchises in science fiction and video games to a new level. Microsoft Corp., in collaboration with some of the most acclaimed anime creators, today unveiled a new project called “Halo Legends,” which will bring the “Halo” franchise and its sweeping sci-fi saga to an entirely new medium, in the form of several original anime short films.
“Halo Legends,” which will officially debut at a panel presentation today at Comic-Con International in San Diego, is being produced by Microsoft’s 343 Industries and features creative direction from anime pioneer Shinji Aramaki, director of the critically acclaimed “Appleseed” and “Appleseed EX Machina” anime features, and Mamoru Oshii, director of the landmark “Ghost in the Shell” movies, with additional production from Joseph Chou of J-Spec Pictures. The compilation will include a series of short stories that explore different times, themes and characters from the “Halo” universe and will be distributed globally by Warner Home Video, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. company. Influential studios that are part of the project include the creators behind some of the most popular and celebrated anime to come from Japan, such as “The Animatrix,” “Cowboy Bebop,” “Fullmetal Alchemist,” “Ghost in the Shell,” “Dragon Ball” and more.
Geometry Wars Withdrawal

Not having owned a Microsoft XBOX 360 in over a year, I have been suffering from what has become serious withdrawal. To much surprise, the withdrawal does not stem from the console itself, albeit all it’s wonderment and many functions are nothing to overlook, but from one title in particular that is probably more fun, challenging, and relaxing to me than it should be. You would think the title in question would be something like a Halo 3, Gears of Wars 2, or any of the recent great titles that keep the gaming world glued to their televisions with controller in hand. Nope, my withdrawal stems from a much simpler title. One in with from my first time playing, I was instantly addicted and almost immediately smacked down the Microsoft Points to own what would greatly consume my life over the next few weeks/months. So the discontinuation of this addictive ’substance’ and the physiological and mental readjustment accompanied with it has been hard to say the least, but like most addicts, I found other things to keep my mind occupied, although none as fulfilling.
