Nick Fury is going to be in 9 Marvel Movies!

Posted by Kary Brown On February - 26 - 2009

With the dismissal of Terrance Howard from Iron Man 2, it looked as if Samuel L. was next up for the chopping block…NOT SO ANYMORE!!

Via Hollywood Reporter:
Samuel L. Jackson is Marvel’s man.

The actor, who just weeks ago was seemingly on the outs with the studio over reprising his role as Nick Fury, agent of spy outfit S.H.I.E.L.D., has signed an unprecedented nine-picture deal to play the character in a series of Marvel movies.

The movies include “Iron Man 2,” “Thor,” “Captain America,” “The Avengers” and its sequels. Also on the table is the possibility of toplining a “S.H.I.E.L.D.” movie, which is in development.

The actor, repped by ICM and Anonymous Content, made a surprise appearance as Fury at the end of the first “Iron Man,” throwing geeks into a tizzy and showing the first glimpse of Marvel’s plan to link all their slate of movies into one filmic universe.

Jackson and Fury were expected to be part of the sequel, but as Marvel negotiated with its cast, deals proved hard to come by. Terrence Howard was replaced by Don Cheadle. Mickey Rourke still doesn’t have a deal for the part of a villain despite almost two months of negotiations.

Awesome!

Got a chance to partake of the SFIV greatness this weekend at a local Fry’s Electronics. Although my pictures quality below is horrible, believe me, it was awesome. I’ll be picking this up when my new 360 gets here.

Dragon Ball Kai!?!? (no, this is not a rumor… CONFIRMED)

Posted by Kary Brown On February - 20 - 2009

Feast your pretty little eyes on this:

Japan is getting a new Dragon Ball Series Starting April 5th, 2009. But allow me to crush your dreams (partially) right now. Dragon Ball Kai isn’t a new series, but rather a condensed version of Dragon Ball Z. How condensed, you ask? Try 100 Episodes. Hopefully they are going to (hopefully) cut out the filler and that 10 episode 5-minute Freeza fight for starters.

DBK (oh man, I love the sound of that!) also brings those 100 episodes remastered in High Definition. OK, I know what you’re thinking: “Didn’t Funimation just do this with the whole series!??” Well, yes and no. Funimation created Hi-def masters of DBZ, but they made them from OLD Betamax tapes and cropped the top and bottom of the original frames. Also, their “remastering” was little more than a photoshop filter ran on the frames…

…but I digress. No only will Toei NOT be cropping the original frames, but they will also be adding art to the sides of frames to make this a true widescreen dbz release. We are talking a frame by frame restoration and master in High Definition!!! Also, it will be airing in High Vision (Japan’s term for High Definition).

Excited? Annoyed? Sound off!

PS3 uses any USB controller

Posted by Carl Minor On February - 19 - 2009

I went over DarkDragon’s (James) place and played some Street Fighter IV.  I remember James telling me that his brother had connected his 6-button Saitek dual Analog PC controller to his PS3 and it worked.  I also have this controller which works superbly with M.U.G.E.N. Now thanks to his brother’s luck we have found out that it also works exceptionally well with SFIV.   Don’t let the weird D-Pad fool you;  it responds like a champ.  I just wanna give Sony props for leaving the controller hardware input open like that.  Oh and before I forget: “I whipped James like it was 1992 and I was all out of quarters”.  Gotta make that last credit last: ALL NIGHT LONG!  The skills have not decreased.  They have only improved with age and fine tuning.  I am accepting all challengers; though I dont own the game.  Which just means I will have to come over your place and hand deliver this ass whooping.

Resolution: Wow there are a lot!

Posted by Carl Minor On February - 19 - 2009

In my search for a moderately priced decent quality projector I have come across many native resolutions.  So I decided to do some digging to see what all resolution existed.
